Steye is a director, composer and inventor, known for his talent for storyteling that he combines with the newest technology. This story designer focusses in his work on the relationship or the experience with the viewer, listener and experiencer. This relationship is constantly changing, due to developments in the media (VR and AR). Steye composed music for several documentaries, wrote four funk-pop records, was founder of the multimedia theatre group PIPS:lab, was creative lead at the VPRO Medialab and now works as creative director for Jaunt VR. Also, he is creative leader at WildVreemd where he initiates and carries out projects like the Smartphone Orchestra.

Steye Hallema is regisseur, componist en uitvinder. Hij staat bekend om zijn verteltalent in combinatie met de nieuwste technologie. Deze storydesigner stelt de relatie van het verhaal of de ervaring met de kijker en luisteraar centraal. Door ontwikkelingen in de media (VR of AR) verandert deze relatie constant. Steye maakte muziek voor diverse documentaires, schreef vier funk-popplaten, was een van de oprichters van multimedia theatergroep PIPS:lab, was programmamaker bij VPRO Medialab en werkt nu als creative director voor virtual reality bedrijf Jaunt VR uit Silicon Valley. Daarnaast is hij artistiek leider bij stichting WildVreemd, waarmee hij innovatieve projecten initieert en uitvoert zoals het Smartphone Orchestra.
